Windows Vista RC1 en français pour tous et MUI pack pour la RC2

Lorsque Windows Vista RC1 est sorti, beaucoup de rumeurs avaient circulé à propos de l’arrivée d’un pack Multilanguage Interface (MUI) permettant de changer totalement la langue affichée dans Vista. Et bien celui-ci est maintenant disponible pour le grand public, et grâce à lui vous allez pouvoir utiliser Vista RC1 en Français. Pour le récupérer, il suffit tout simplement de lancer Windows Update et d’aller sur l’option « Afficher les mises à jour disponibles ». Là, vous aurez la possibilité de cocher « French Lang Pack ». Vous devrez ensuite patientez durant le téléchargement qui va rapatrier pas moins de 0,7 Gb. Une fois ceci fait, vous devez manuellement sélectionner la langue à utiliser. Pour cela, procédez comme suit:

Allez dans Control panel > Regional and language options > Keyboards and languages > Choose a display language: sélectionnez le français dans le menu déroulant et terminez par apply > log off. Après la fermeture de session, lorsque vous vous reconnectez, toute votre interface sera enfin en français! (soyez patient l’installation du pack prend en long moment!)

Et voilà ! Le tant attendu pack est en place

Pour ceux qui ont déjà migré sur Windows Vista RC2, il va falloir être patient avant de voir arriver le MUI pack FR sur Windows Update. Les plus chanceux faisant partie du programme Microsoft Connect peuvent toujours le récupérer en exclusivité à cette adresse: https://connect.microsoft.com/windows/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=3421

Dans le cas ou vous possédez un abonnement MSDN, vous pouvez récupérer directement le DVD de Vista en français:

Si vous récupérez le MUI pack, voici la procédure d’installation via le logiciel Language Pack Installer :

The Lpksetup.exe tool must run on a running Windows operating system. This scenario is useful if you change the installed language of a running Windows operating system.
Lpksetup.exe is available with all default Windows installations.
Lpksetup Command-Line OptionsYou can use Lpksetup to perform unattended or silent-mode language pack operations.
Lpksetup runs only on an online Windows operating system.
Lpksetup.exe Command-Line OptionsThe following command-line options are available for Lpksetup.exe:
lpksetup.exe {/i [{* | language}] | /u language} [/r] [/p language_pack_path] [/s] [/f]
Option
Description
/i
Installs the specified language packs. Cannot be used with the /u option. If you do not include * or language after the /I option, the program will start and you can install through the user interface (UI).
*
Specifies a wildcard character that represents all language packs found in language_pack_path or the directory where Lpksetup.exe is located.
language
Specifies the language pack or packs to be installed or uninstalled. Use the format language-REGION for each language specified, where language is the lowercase ISO 639 language code and REGION is the uppercase ISO 3166-1 country/region identifier.
/u
Uninstalls the specified language packs. Cannot be used with the /I option. If you do not include language after the /u option, the program will start and you can uninstall through the UI.
/r
Suppresses the need to restart after an operation is complete. A message will be logged to the event log about the need to restart.
/p path
Indicates the path of the language packs to install.
path
Can be a directory or a folder path.
language_pack_path Performs a silent and unattended operation that requires no user input. The UI is suppressed.
/s
Performs a silent and unattended operation that requires no user input. The UI is suppressed.
/f
If the computer must restart, forces a restart even if there are other users logged on to the computer.
Examples:
This example installs all language packs that are located on installation media.
lpksetup.exe /i * /p path
This example uninstalls two language packs. Lpksetup will be started in GUI mode but will not require user intervention.
lpksetup.exe /u ja-JP es-ES
This example installs three language packs stored on a remote computer.
lpksetup.exe /i ja-JP en-US es-ES /r /s /p \\networkpath\languagepackfolder
